Public Involvement


 

Public involvement is a basic component of the environmental review process. DOT&PF and FHWA has involved the public throughout this project.

Draft SEIS Distributed and Public Hearings Held

In Spring 2015, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), in consultation with cooperating State and Federal agencies, published the Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) and Draft Section 4(f) Evaluation.

Public and agency review and input on the Draft SEIS was solicited during the 60-day comment period (March 27th –May 26th, 2015) and through public hearings held in Anchorage, Cooper Landing, Soldotna, and Washington DC. If you missed the hearings, you can review the meeting materials below.

Past Public Involvement

DOT&PF has met with the public, regulatory agencies, and interested groups since 2000 to keep them apprise of project activities and to get their feedback on the environmental, social, and economic issues associate with the project.
